Sharon Duchesneau, LCPC

Founder, Partner, Senior Therapist

Ms. Duchesneau is a Maryland, District of Columbia, and Virginia licensed Deaf counselor and also holds certifications as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Counselor (BC-TMH). A Bangor, Maine native, she obtained her Master’s degree in mental health counseling from Gallaudet University and her BA degree from the University of Virginia. Her internship training took place at the Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, DC, where she provided therapy to  lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) clients.

Ms. Duchesneau has worked for more than 30 years as a psychotherapist in Maryland, Virginia and DC community mental health settings and at Deaf Counseling Center, working with individuals, couples, families, and children. She led weekly group therapy sessions for seriously mentally ill Deaf individuals at a Washington, DC psychiatric day program. A member of the American Counseling Association, Ms. Duchesneau has also taught graduate-level courses at local colleges and worked with Deaf Abused Women’s Network (DAWN) in Washington, DC.  She enjoys giving services to Deaf clients on a national basis.
